बोलणे सोपे, तोलणे अवघड! परवा परवाला भारतरत्न डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांची जयंती झाली आणि आज लगेच रामनवमी! आज मिडीयावर, वर्तमानपत्रात, गावोगावी, शहरात, गल्लोगल्ली, सर्वच मंदिरात सर्वत्र श्री रामाच्या नावाचा जयघोष होतोय! श्री रामचंद्र नावाचा मनुष्य असलेला एक युवक, आपल्या सद्गुणांच्या बळावर जसे संयम, शांती, धैर्य, लोकभावनेचा आदर आणि हे करतांना झालेल्या काही चुकांना स्वतःच्या प्राक्तनात बांधून एक लोकमान्य राजा झाला! भारतवर्षात अनेक महान सुपुत्रांपैकी राजा श्रीरामचंद्र एक आदर्श सुपुत्र! त्यांचा जन्म दिवस निश्चितच आपल्यासाठी गौरवपूर्ण, अभिमान आणि आत्मसंयमाचा दिवस! आज त्यानिमित्ताने आदर्श राजा श्रीरामचंद्र यांच्या भजन-कीर्तन, महाप्रसाद, नटणे-थटने, मिरवणुका, रंगांचे सादरीकरण मोठ्या जल्लोषात होत आहे! भारतीय माणूस मुळातच उत्सवप्रिय! एखादा उत्सव साजरा करतांना काल-आज-उद्या याचे कुणालाच भान नसते. आपण काय करत आहोत? हे केल्यानंतर याचे परिणाम काय होतील? आपल्या जीवनात याचा परिणाम-परिपाक काय? याचे फलित काय? कुणीही हा विचार करायला तयार नाही. विशेषतः हा सगळा जल्लोष साजरा करणारा युवा वर्ग! आज युवा वर्गाची अवस्था काय आहे? हा प्रश्नच विचारणे महापाप होऊ शकत! नीट, संयमाने, शांततेने वागा, पुस्तक वाचा, मोठ्यांचा सन्मान करा असे साधे साधे वाक्य सुद्धा युवकांना तीक्ष्ण बाणासारखे टोचत आहेत. युवकांमध्ये तीन ‘त’ कार जसे तपस्विता, तेजस्विता आणि तत्परता हे तीनही गुण दुर्मिळ झाले आहेत! क्षमा करा सज्जनहो! पण हे सर्वांचेच झाले आहे असे नाही, परंतु प्रमाण मात्र प्रचंड वाढले आहे!
मित्रहो, एका महामानवांची, आदर्श राजाची किंवा समाजसुधारकाची जयंती-मयंती साजरी करतांना केवळ आणि केवळ जल्लोष होणे अपेक्षित आहे का? मी मागील अनेक दिवसांपासून अनेक लेख लिहितो आहे, अनेक व्याख्यान, कीर्तनातून बोललो आहे. माझा लेख वाचून मला आत्तापर्यंत मिडियावरील काही लाईक, कमेंट सोडल्या तर अजून एकाही तरुणाची प्रतिक्रिया आली नाही. मला चाळीशी ओलांडलेले आणि शक्यतो सेवानिवृत्त झालेल्या लोकांचे कॉल्स येतात. कदाचित आम्ही सगळेच हतबल झालो आहेत म्हणून एकमेकांना केवळ सांत्वन तर देत नाही? असाही एखादा विचार मनातून निघून जातो. आज रामनवमी निमित्ताने अनेक अभंग, कविता आपल्याला वाचायला मिळतील. त्यातील जगद्गुरू संत तुकारामांच्या “राम म्हणता रामचि होईजे। पदी बैसोन पदवी घेईजे।” ह्या ओळी जास्तच अंतर्मुख करून गेल्या. त्यामुळेच तर संत तुकारामांच्या अभंगाचे प्रश्नार्थक शीर्षक! तुकारामांनी आणि त्यांच्या अगोदरच्या अनेकांनी राम जन्माचा जल्लोष करण्यापेक्षा माणसाने जोशात आपला होश न गमावता प्रत्येकाने राम होणे अत्यंत गरजेचे आहे!
अयोध्येत राम मंदिर उभे राहिले आहे. त्याचा जल्लोष ओसरला आहे. केवळ पुतळे, मंदिरे अथवा जयंती-पुण्यतिथी साजरी करतांना एवढ्यावरच थांबून कसे चालेल? एकीकडे आपण लोकशाहीच्या शंबरीकडे वाटचाल करतांना आपल्यासमोरील प्रश्न संपलेले नाहीत. मंदिराच्या उभारणीने भारतीयांची जबाबदारी वाढली आहे. जगात भारत हा महापुरुषांची खाण आहे असे म्हणणे वावगे ठरू नये. आपला इतिहास मोठा उज्वल आणि विस्मयकारी आहे. अनेकांनी आपल्या कर्तृत्वाने अटकेपार झेंडे रोवतांना देशाचा गौरव देदीप्यमान केला आहे. त्यात पुरुषोत्तम श्रीरामचंद्र यांचे नाव अग्रक्रमाणे घेतले जाते. त्याचबरोबर आज आपल्याला आपल्यातीलच रावण दहन करण्याची वेळ आली आहे! आपल्यातील पंच ज्ञानेंद्रिये आणि कर्मेंद्रिये यावर नियंत्रण ठेवून आपल्यातील अकराव्या मनाने या दहा इंद्रियरुपी रावणावर विजय मिळविण्याचा दिवस म्हणजे दसरा! या दहांना हरवून आपल्याला नियंत्रणात रहायचे आहे! असे झाल्यासच खऱ्या अर्थाने आपल्यातील रावण जळणार आहे! तो जाळण्यासाठी आपल्याला भावाभावात राम-लक्ष्मणाचे प्रेम वृद्धिंगत करावे लागेल. त्याचबरोबर आपल्याला अनेक दुर्गुणांचे सिमोल्लंघन करावे लागेल! व्यसनमुक्तीचे सिमोल्लंघन! दारूमुक्तीचे सिमोल्लंघन! कट्टरता, भेदभाव, द्वेष, मत्सर इत्यादीचे सिमोल्लंघन करावे लागेल!
दिवसेंदिवस माणूस संकुचित होत असून विविध गोष्टींचे प्रदर्शन करण्याचा कालखंड आला आहे. आज माणसं बोलतांना दिसत आहेत, मात्र त्यांचे आचरण शुद्ध राहिले नाही. आपल्या भोवताल आणि घराघरात रावणरुपी अनंत समस्या आणि रोग ठाण मांडून बसले आहेत. माणसांचा संवाद संपत चालला आहे. ही सगळी बदलेली परिस्थिती पाहून कवी व्यथित होऊन या बोलक्या आणि ओळी लिहतोय,
असा महिमा या कलीचा, आता मी जावू कुठे ?
इथे घराघरांत रावण, एवढे राम भेटतील कुठे ?
काळ झपाट्याने कूस बदलतो आहे. एक भाऊ वनवासाला निघाल्यानंतर दुसरा भाऊ कोणताही विचार न करता त्याच्या संरक्षणासाठी जाणारा लक्ष्मण कुठे? आणि आज मटणाचा रस्सा दिला नाही म्हणून भावाच्या डोक्यात खलबत्ता घालून जीव घेणारा भाऊ कुठे? आपल्या सावत्र आईने वनवासाला जाण्याची आज्ञा पालन करणारा सुपुत्र राम कुठे आणि दारूसाठी पैसे दिले नाही म्हणून आपल्याच जन्मदात्रीचा धारदार चाकूने खून करणारा आजचा कुपुत्र कुठे? अशी एक ना अनेक उदाहरणे आज आपल्या भोवताल घडत आहेत. घराघरांत वाढणारी रावणवृत्ती ही येणाऱ्या काळासाठी मोठी धोक्याची घंटा आहे. आज तरुण पिढीला मोबाईल आणि व्यसनांनी विळखा घातला आहे. महाविद्यालयात उच्चशिक्षण घेत असलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे वर्तन विचित्र झाले आहे. मुलांचे उपस्थितीचे प्रमाण कमालीचे घटले आहे! जर ही मुलं वर्गात येऊन बसलीच नाही तर यांच्यावर संस्कार होणार कसे? ही पिढी प्रज्ञावंत, गुणवंत, ज्ञानवंत होणार कशी? या पिढीत शांती, संयम, सहिष्णुता, धर्मनिरपेक्षता, देशप्रेम, मूल्यशिक्षण इत्यादी संस्कार रुजणार कसे आणि कुठे? आणि जर हे झालेच नाही तर आपल्या देशाचे भविष्य व्यसनी-दारुड्या-अशिक्षित-अज्ञानी तरुणांच्या हाती जाणार का? अशी अनामिक भीती माझ्यासारख्या पापभिरू, शिक्षक माणसाला वाटणे गैर काय?
आज घराघरात भाऊ राम, लक्ष्मण, भरत, शत्रुघ्न आणि कौशल्या-दशरथ सारख्या आई बापांची गरज आहे. परंतु आज घराघरांत कैकयी आणि मंथरा सारख्या प्रवृत्ती वाढल्या तर पुन्हा राम वनवासाला जाणार का?
कुठे बाप दशरथ अन कुठे माता कौशल्या ?
वाढताहेत मंथरा अन कैकयी जिथे तिथे
सांग भरता, करू काय अन जाऊ कुठे ?
इथे घराघरांत रावण, एवढे राम भेटतील कुठे ?
आज ह्या सर्वच प्रवृतीचे दहन करून आपल्याला रामासारखा मातृपितृभक्त आणि लक्ष्मणासारखा बंधुप्रेमी भाऊ घराघरांत निर्माण करण्यासाठी इथे व्यसनं आणि दुर्गुणांचा त्याग क्सरून सद्गुणांची कास धरावी लागेल! चला तर मग, दुर्गुणांना जीवनातून हद्दपार करून सद्गुणांची कास धरूया, उद्याच्या सकारात्मक बदलाची कास धरूया! रामाचा ‘सर्वे सुखिनो भवन्तु सर्वे सन्तु निरामय:’ आणि सम्राट अशोकाने घालून दिलेला ‘पंचशील-बुद्धधम्म’ या मार्गांनी शांतता-संयम-प्रज्ञा-शिल-करुणा-बंधुता-देशप्रेम या महत्वपूर्ण बाबींचे प्रकर्षाने जीवनात पालन करूया! खऱ्या अर्थाने आपला भारत देश समृद्ध-संपन्न-स्वावलंबी बनवूया! जय श्रीराम!
