त्यांनी मला राजकारणात आणले आणि स्वत: ढोक महाराजांनी सांगितले, इथे मारुलकर असतील ते सांगतील जेव्हा मुंडे साहेब मंत्री झाल्यावर भगवान गडावर आले, तेव्हा ढोक महाराजांना ते म्हटले, माझ्या पंकजाकडे लक्ष द्या. भगवान गडावर जेव्हा मुंडे साहेब शेवटचे आले होते, तेव्हा ते म्हणाले होते मला भगवानगडावर पंकजा दिसते. हे माझं प्रमोशन करण्यासाठी नाही. पण पंकजाचीच काळजी घ्यावी म्हणजे त्यांना फक्त माझीच काळजी आहे असं नाही. त्यांना माहितीय तुम्ही फक्त पंकजाची काळजी घ्या पंकजा तूमची बाकीची सगळी काळजी
घेईल. कारण मला माहिती आहे, माझं आणि माझ्या बाबांच नातं काय होतं. मी कधी त्यांची बहिण झाले, कधी आई झाले, कधी मुलगी झाले आणि आयुष्यभरासाठी त्यांचा मुलगा म्हणून त्यांचे काम बघत आहे. हे काम करत असताना जर डोळे बंद मुंडे साहेबांचे स्मरण केले तर आपल्याला एक वाक्य आठवत राहते, कानात गुंजत राहते ते म्हणजे मी थकणार नाही, मी रुकणार नाही, मी कुणासमोर कधीही झुकणार नाही. हे वाक्य गोपीनाथ मुंडे यांनी जेव्हा उच्चारले त्यानंतर मी हजारो वर्ष उच्चारले तरीही त्या वाक्याचे महत्त्व कमी होणार नाही. मुंडे साहेब हे वाक्य उच्चारत होते ते तुमच्यासाठी उच्चारत होते. कारण थकलेल्या, रुकलेल्या, वंचितांना वाली बणण्यासाठी मुंडेसाहेब त्या वाक्याचा उच्चार करत होते. कोणाला धमकावण्यासाठी, कुणाला सांगण्यासाठी, इशारा देण्यासाठी ते या वाक्याचा उच्चार करत नव्हते. ज्याला इशारा मीळायचा त्याला इशारा मिळतच असतो.
