छत्रपती संभाजीनगर :- औरंगाबादचे छत्रपती संभाजीनगर, तर उस्मानाबादचे धारशिव असे नामकरण करण्यास केंद्र सरकारच्या गृह मंत्रालयाने हिरवा कंदील दाखवल्यानंतर राज्य सरकारने या दोन्ही शहरांची नावे बदलण्याची अधिसूचना जारी केली. यापुढे ही दोन्ही शहरे नव्या नावाने ओळखली जाणार आहेत. मात्र, या नामांतराला ‘एमआयएम’चे खासदार इम्तियाज जलील यांनी विरोध दर्शवला आहे. सरकारच्या या निर्णयाचा इम्तियाज जलील यांनी सुरुवातीपासूनच तीव्र विरोध केला आहे. याविरोधात रस्त्यावर उतरण्याची भाषादेखील त्यांनी केली होती. औरंगाबादचे छत्रपती संभाजी नगर या नामकरणावर त्यांनी जोरदार आक्षेप घेतला असून अद्यापही आपण या शहराचे नाव औरंगाबाद असेच गृहीत धरत असल्याचे त्यांनी सूचित केले आहे. ते म्हणाले, “इम्तियाज जलील हे औरंगाबादचे खासदार होते आणि औरंगाबादचेच खासदार राहतील. माझा जन्म औरंगाबादमध्ये झाला आणि मी औरंगाबादमध्येच मरणार.
